Jill & Steve Ward:
My husband and I were fortunate to spend a full day with Donald on a remarkable sunny day in early November . The knowledge and information on history, fauna, flora, deer, raptors, seals, otters, the islands geology and visiting geese, that Donald brought to the tour, all delivered in an understated and very gentle fashion made a truly spectacular tour all the more fascinating and enjoyable . I had asked to see Golden Eagles, otters and deer but quickly stipulated that we knew wildlife did not operate to a strict timetable. Nevertheless, Donald took us on a superb walk from hilltop complete with Iron Age Broich, to a fantastic beach and rocky shoreline. Whilst pointing out seals, Donald casually indicated for us to take a comfortable seat and pointed out 3 otters, swimming in the sea amongst the seals, swans, mallards and cormorants. We had a truly spectacular seat for a picnic overlooking the Paps of Jura, which majestically showed their crowns for the full afternoon walk, and we were both blown away by the display that the otters put on for us, walking on the rocks and diving and swimming . We chatted excitedly about what we had all been fortunate to see in various parts of the world on holiday through our lives, and to finish a wonderful full day seeing the best that Islay had to offer us, we were treated to a fabulous 15 minute hover by a pair of a Golden Eagles. We cannot believe how fortunate we were to see all that we did and spend a full day in such interesting company and we highly recommend a day in the expert care of Donald.
Thank you very much Donald, We will be back
